The lockdown, due to the Covid 19 outbreak, has meant that many families in Nepal have lost their source of income and are struggling to feed their families. Shiva Charity was able to distribute emergency food (rice, dhal, cooking oil, salt, beans and soap)) to over 70 families in Nala.
Thanks to Wrington Vale Rotary Club we now have clean drinking water at the Ginette Harrison School(GHS). This will mean the children will be healthier and less likley to become ill by drinking unclean water. The children have also had lessons on first aid, recycling and have been out litter picking to create a cleaner environment. Altogether a better and safer GHS!
Not only does SHIVA Charity train the teachers to work with resources in the class room, but we teach some to be trainers as well, so that it empowers them to continue the process indefinitely.
Kyria was the trainer this year. She teaches at St Agnant Nursery School. She remarked, "This has been a good learning experience for me. I was a little apprehensive at first, as these were my colleagues, but we had an interesting and happy time, and I think we learned a lot. The children, of course, are the real winners, because they have much more enjoyable lessons."
