Basics on Running a Tree Trimming Business

tree trimming serviceHello, and welcome to my blog about how to run a tree trimming business. If you read my about page, you’ll know I’m an experienced tree trimming business owner. I’ve owned a tree trimming business in Florida for many years and have learned how to market, advertise, and close big deals when it comes to tree trimming. The big ticket items are getting in with a housing association or a commercial building complex that has lots of trees. The reason for this is because the more big accounts, the less you have to worry about finding new customers. It’s a pretty competitive industry these days so keeping your current customers happy is very important. There was a study done recently about how much more money it costs to find a new customer than to keep an existing customer happy and the numbers were pretty staggering. The results might not be surprising to most of you because everyone knows it usually costs money to acquire a new customer, otherwise known as customer acquisition but I still wanted to point this out because I see a lot of business owners complaining about their customers and not wanting to go the extra mile to make them happy. These can be make or break decisions for your business because when you lose a customer, there’s basically a zero percent chance that they are going to hire you again. This principle might be basic but hopefully it will strike a chord with some of you that are wanting to drop some of your current customers. On the other hand, if a customer is costing you money or taking up too much of your time so you can’t go out and acquire new customers, you can politely tell them you are unable to keep serving them but please keep in mind the money you’re going to have to spend on finding a new customer to replace them. At the end of the day, if it don’t make dollars it don’t make cents, but many business owners forget how many dollars acquiring a new customer will actually cost you.
